Important Information For Parents
Early Finish – Friday 16 July 2010
School closes at 2pm today, at which point the Yellow Bus will be arriving to transport students home.
New School Day from September 2010
When St Catherine’s reopens after the summer break in September we will be starting a different school day.
The main change will be to the start and finish times. School will start at 8.30 am and finish at 2.30 pm.
Other important changes include moving tutorial time from the start of the school day to just before morning break. This means that students will go straight to lesson one which starts at 8.30 am and not to
registration as they currently do.
Public transport for students will not be affected as the times of the school buses will
change to meet the new school day.
New Uniform to be worn by all Key stage 3
students from September 2010
As you will be aware we introduced a new uniform
for Year 7 students at the beginning of this
academic year. This has had such a positive impact
upon the public perception of the school and our
students that we have decided to extend the new
uniform to the whole of Key Stage 3 from
September 2010. This means that all Year 7, 8 and 9
students will be required to wear the new uniform
when they return after the summer break.
The new uniform comprises:
* Claret blazer with school badge.
* Plain black or dark grey trousers or skirt.
* Plain white shirt or blouse with a button-up neck, collar and sleeves
designed to be worn with a tie.
* Plain grey, black or white socks or natural or black tights.
* Black or dark brown shoes.
* School tie to be worn all year.
· There is also a new school pullover (grey with a claret stripe around the
collar) which is optional. The existing school pullover is no longer
part of the uniform for Key Stage 3 and should not be worn.
