A brand new focus group has been launched for both Trinity Academy and St. Catherine's parents which will meet once per term and applications are now being invited to join. If you are interested in becoming a member then please email Hayley Wilson, Marketing Manager at Trinity Academy, at h.wilson@trinityacademyhalifax.org stating why you would like to become involved. You will then be invited to speak to academy staff to gain further information. The group will be asked to provide feedback on a variety of topics at informal meetings to be chaired by a member of the academy staff and we would particularly like St. Catherine's parents to be a part of the team from the outset, in preparation for September 2013.

Wigan and England Rugby League full-back and reigning Man of Steel Sam Tomkins has been visiting St Catherine's and Trinity Academy recently to take part in the Sky Sports Living for Sport programme. Sky is in the process of making a documentary featuring students from both schools which will be broadcast later in the year.
Students were put through a rigorous selection process to be able to take part in this exciting project for roles in the documentary as well as other important positions such as marketing, kit design, media and coaching.
Students involved in the project will also have an opportunity to visit Wigan Warriors stadium later this month to experience the running of the club.
In addition, we were delighted to be treated to a visit from the Rugby World Cup recently which arrived in a huge metal security cage. The Trophy was then displayed in the PE classroom for all to admire.
